ELM Equivalent Coursework
ELM Equivalent Coursework is a sequence of non-credit classes that cover the competencies of the ELM Requirement. This coursework is for students who have been accepted to a CSU and have completed high school, but have not yet met the ELM Requirement. Each campus designs and offers its own ELM Equivalent Coursework.
- Entering freshmen who have not met the ELM Requirement must successfully complete one to three semesters of ELM Equivalent Coursework required by their campus within one year of their date of admission.
- Successful completion means earning a grade of C or better in each non-credit course required of the student by the CSU campus.
- The student's ELM Exam score and the campus policy determine which courses in the sequence are required.
- Students who do not successfully complete all required ELM Equivalent Coursework within their first year of attendance at CSU are dismissed from the university.
- ELM Equivalent Coursework only serves to met the ELM Requirement and does NOT count towards graduation.
