Transfer Students

The Math Success Website has been designed to help entering CSU freshman meet the CSU ELM requirement. As a transfer student your entrance requirements are different than those that correspond to freshman.

Tips for Transfer Students

  • You need to complete a course approved for the CSU Quantitative Reasoning General Education (GE) Requirement with a grade of C or better in order to enroll in for-credit math at the CSU.
  • This requirement is also referred to as the Area B4 GE Requirement. Courses that meet the CSU Quantitative Reasoning GE Requirement also meet the CSU ELM Requirement. If you have not completed the CSU Quantitative Reasoning GE Requirement before you transfer, you will be required to meet the CSU ELM requirement.
  • You can access more detailed information by visiting the CSU Mentor Transfer Student popup window icon section. There are many other CSU GE Requirements and Major Preparation Requirements that you need to know about before transferring.
  • Please see your college counselor for more information.
