If your EAP Math Status is "Standard Exceeded: Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level mathematics courses" then you have met the CSU ELM requirement. Congratulations! Meeting this requirement is the first step towards succeeding in college-level coursework.

  • You are ready to enroll in for-credit math courses at the CSU.
  • Remember that you must satisfy all of the CSU preparatory coursework.
  • Don't forget to apply to the CSU in the fall.

Keeping Your Math Skills Sharp

  • Take a fourth year of high school math. This will strengthen your college applications and improve your opportunities.
  • Consider taking an Advanced Placement (AP) math course. You may be able to earn college credit.
  • Consider taking pre-calculus or AP calculus if you think that you might major in any of the following areas:
    • mathematics,
    • the physical sciences,
    • the life sciences,
    • computer science,
    • business,
    • economics
  • Consider taking a statistics class if you think that you might major in any of the following areas:
    • journalism
    • communication
    • social sciences
  • Consider taking any mathematics that you find interesting if you think that you might choose a major designed for future grade school or middle school teachers.
  • Consider taking a math course at the local community college, if you can’t find a suitable course at your high school,
  • Consult with your high school counselor to determine the best course of action.
