Counselors

All entering CSU students are required to show that they are ready for college math. The Math Success Website provides information and resources to help students become math ready. In addition to high-school math courses required for CSU admission (Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II), students must meet the Entry Level Mathematics requirement in order to enroll in for-credit math courses.

There are many things that you can do to inform, direct, and prepare your students so that they are math ready for the CSU.

  • Early Assessment Program (EAP) – Make sure that your juniors in Algebra II or above participate in the EAP by taking the additional CSU portions of the California Standards Tests in Algebra II or Summative Mathematics.
  • Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) Requirement – Inform your students about the ELM Requirement and encourage them to take it seriously.
  • Marketing Materials - Print the colorful marketing materials to remind your students about the importance of taking early steps to get ready for the CSU.
